SIMCEL provides built-in collaboration tools so your team can coordinate planning activities without leaving the platform.

Task management

A dedicated space to create, assign, and track work directly in SIMCEL. Tasks can be linked to Plans, Scenarios, and Events so coordination is grounded in planning context.

Accessing tasks

Navigate to Tasks under the Collab section in the sidebar. The summary bar shows task counts by status: Total, To Do, In Progress, Completed, Rejected, with an overall progress bar. Toggle between All tasks and My tasks (top right) to switch scope.

Contextual comments

Comments are embedded directly inside object drawers (Plans, Scenarios, Events), keeping discussions tied to the right context.

Adding a comment

  1. Open the Comments tab inside any object’s drawer
  2. Post your comment directly under the object
  3. Use @username to mention and notify teammates
Comments are grouped by day (newest first) with author name, timestamp, and mentions visible.

Managing comments

  • Edit or Delete your own comments to correct mistakes or remove outdated information
  • Like or Dislike to signal agreement or disagreement without starting a new thread

Activity log

Every object (Plan, Scenario, Event) maintains an automatic timeline of all actions taken on it.

What gets logged

  • Object creation (e.g., “Alice created Event B”)
  • Status changes (e.g., “John updated Scenario A”)
  • Edits and modifications
Each entry contains the user’s name, timestamp, and a short description. Entries are grouped by day with the most recent at the top.

Viewing the log

Open the Activity Log tab in any object’s drawer to see the complete history. This provides a clear audit trail of who changed what and when.

Object drawers

Drawers let you open and explore Plans, Scenarios, and Events without leaving your current page.

What you can do in a drawer

  • View the object’s structured data (attributes, linked items)
  • Switch to the Comments tab for discussion
  • Switch to the Activity Log tab for change history
  • Navigate to linked objects - Jump from a Plan to its Scenarios, from a Scenario to its Events
  • Go back returns to the previous drawer without losing context or scroll position
Plan (see global setup and scenarios)
→ Scenario (see assumptions, linked events)
→ Event (review adjustments driving demand)
This layered navigation lets you move from high-level planning down to specific events while always keeping the right context in view.
