The KPI Drivers tool helps you explore segment performance and understand how different KPIs relate to each other.

How to access

Navigate to Tools > KPI Drivers from the sidebar.

Configuring the chart

Define five parameters to build your analysis:
ParameterDescription
Dimension 1 (x-axis)First category to segment data (e.g., Product ID, Category)
Dimension 2 (x-axis)Second category for further segmentation (e.g., Country, Channel)
DisplayShow Top 10 or Bottom 10 values for KPI 1 or KPI 2
KPI 1 (bar, left y-axis)First key performance indicator
KPI 2 (line, right y-axis)Second key performance indicator
The chart updates automatically as you adjust parameters.

Example use case

Goal: Identify products with the highest demand and evaluate their service levels countrywide.
ParameterSetting
Dimension 1Product ID
Dimension 2Country
DisplayKPI 1 - Top 10
KPI 1Unconstrained Gross Sales In Value
KPI 2Service Level
Insight: If a top-selling product shows a low service level, you can investigate root causes, alert headquarters to increase supply, and develop a corrective action plan.

KPI driver chain

The P&L waterfall shows how KPIs cascade from revenue to profit:
Gross FIE Sales
  - FIE Trade Expenses
  = Net FIE Sales
    - Distributor COGS
    = Gross Profit
      - Transport
      - Storage & Handling
      = Supply Chain Cost
        - Promotion
        - Medical Affairs
        = DPM
          - Administration
          = EBIT

How to use it

  1. Identify root causes - If EBIT is declining, trace back through the driver chain to find which input KPI is causing the change
  2. Impact analysis - See which downstream KPIs will be affected when a driver changes
  3. Segment performance - Identify your best and worst performers across any dimension
  4. Planning focus - Determine which KPIs to prioritize based on their influence on outcomes
